First is a brand new spin on the classic shell jump tricking from the original Super Mario Bros, but in his latest game for the 3DS. Tiny Cartridge has highlighted three thus far, but this one is perhaps the best since it seriously requires zero effort…

Remember back in the original game, how you had to actually hit the jump button each time? Yeah… kids today don’t realize how easy they have it. Moving on, for those of you having troubling finding all the hidden loop in Uncharted 3, all 101 (spoilers, cuz only 100 is advertised), here’s a handy walkthrough, ya lazy bum…

The last one requires a little bit of ingenuity, plus Legos, but it’s well worth it. To nab that piano playing achievement in Gears of War 3, which normally requires 2,000 button presses, can easily be achieved with a robot. Via Make, the following “hits the ‘X’ button at about 67 times per minute, though I think only about 1/2 of them actually trigger the event. So more like 34 times per minute, 340 times every 10 minutes, about 2,000 per hour.”

First off, there’s obviously the official replica lancers that have been produced. You all saw the one Ice-T unveiled in his GOW3 unboxing video. Maybe I’m missing something, but I can’t seem to find it anywhere online.

There’s at least this GOW2 version on Amazon, with the cheapest being $425 (used). But for those who already have one, there’s also the GOW3‘s retro variant, for the far more sensible price tag of $400 (and brand new)…

Now, if you don’t have that much money to blow, but do have time, as well as access to a f*ckton of Legos, how about building your own, like this guy did. It even works! Granted, it only shoots rubber bands, but that’s still something…

BTW, for those who are truly gaga for Gear of War‘s guns, here’s some stats showing what’s most popular at the moment…

And last but not least, if you want to run around with a video game gun in the real world, but aren’t necessarily a fan of something so big and gaudy (plus heavy) looking, and are more of a fan of Mass Effect, how about this Nerf cannon that’s been redesigned to resemble artillery from that game? It’s only $249, via Etsy…

Ogre is a “Tank” built around a Zamor launching system nicknamed “Hailstorm”. It uses three XL PF motors, controlled either by a standard PF remote, or by the on-board (black) NXT using the Hitechnic IRLink. It also has a small wireless “spycam” attached, so that the driver can “see” what the robot sees. The result is a lot of fun to drive around, and even more fun to watch it autonomously detect, target, and destroy loose LEGO targets.

Awesome…

This display contains over 300,000 blocks and 4,500 minifigs. How cool (and sad) is that?

Crumbling walls in Italian town Bocchignano are being repaired — with Lego Bricks.

Sporting the denim overalls and checked shirt for this village was German artist Jan Vormann, whose approach centered on finding walls with missing bricks and replacing them with the colorful children’s building material.

The wacky artist was surprised to find how perfect the bricks fit the bill.

“At first I thought it would be a complicated procedure to fit the pieces,” Vormann said. “But as it turned out, the bigger plastic pieces were compatible with the smaller ones, and the Lego held itself in place without any glue whatsoever.”

However, the 25-year-old did admit that the colorful construction could not last forever.

“I tried to apply some glue, but, on the dusty patina of the stone, it would not stick,” Vormann said. “So I decided to just put them up like this, aware of the fact of erosion and the influence of weather.”

You may be shocked to learn that Legos in the brick walls of buildings aren’t a great idea. You may as well repair the walls with positive thinking or hobo cum, all the while making the same “artistic” vision of the temporary nature of life as well as how hard it is to be an artist and not eat the vat of hobo cum you’re using for repairs.

I’m also sick of Lego invading aspect of my life. These buildings, our superheroes, they even have their own independent nation within the United States borders! When do we say “no more”? When Lego Mussolini comes in and demands our blood? We must stop the Lego menace before it destroys us all!
