There comes a point in any ad campaign when it’s time to move on. I was a big fan of the Old Spice commercials with Isaiah Mustafa, but they quickly ran their course. The Go Daddy ads that directed you to the website to “see more” were scintillating until the first time I actually went to the site and found nothing worthwhile. And now Coors Light’s commercials starring NFL coaches have run their course.

Are they serious about that? I know it’s just web content, but they aren’t even trying anymore. This campaign was clever in the beginning when they were splicing questions into famous coach’s rants (Playoffs!?!), but the novelty wore off after the 3rd or 4th commercial. Now they are just beating a dead Clydesdale. At this point I’m actually embarrassed for the coaches, but I guess it’s still better than Ditka hocking Levitra.

I understand that Coors is trying to milk the NFL for all it’s worth since they are no longer the official beer sponsor of the league, but as the narrator in Anchorman pointed out, “The times, they are a-changin.” If Coors really can’t come up with another idea, I will gladly come aboard as a consultant in exchange for beer. My first order of business will be to trade in the old men for beautiful busty ladies!
