Philly fans have informed me that I’m quite hard on them. A brief perusal of posts over the last month show they’re probably right. I do seem to have a strange fascination with the absurdity of their fanbase (see here, here and here).

The Joel Ward goal gave Boston fans a reason to be stupid on Twitter
Let's get this out of the way first: Joel Ward scored 2:57 into overtime to give the Washington Capitals a Game 7 victory over the Boston Bruins. The goal came off a rebound with Mike Knuble crashing the net after a shot. Here's the video if you haven't seen it.

Claude Giroux embarrassed the Penguins and their fans
The Flyers eliminated the Penguins in a wild first round that featured lots of goals, hits, fights and suspensions. Claude Giroux had himself a marvelous series with 6 goals and 14 points. He also got in the head of some Penguins fans.
