Beware of this video since there’s a lot of nerd babbling, but you can’t really beat the simple joys of the World’s Sixth Most Popular Sport, Pac-man, being played out with Roombas. Pop your power pellets and get on board.

Downside: Not quite as cool as this Pac-Man in real life video. It’s a known fact that any concept gets infinitely funnier when you add in destroying public property and horrified onlookers.

I wonder if Pac-Man has the cultural relevance he did before though. In the 80s there was Pac-Man fever and arcade games everywhere. But nowadays if I pop some pills and try to eat ghosts that only I can see, people think I’m the strange one. Study up on your classic video games and/or the psychodelic effects of alcohol and sleeping pills, society!

Some French prankster is reenacting video games in real life (see his take on Mario Kart) and now he’s out to defame Pac-Man’s good name in this video.

Actually, it’s probably false that Pac-Man has a good name. He knocked up Ms. Pac-Man then was just like, “Fuck you bitch, fend for yourself.” He did the same crap to his son too, Baby Pac-Man. Plus he’s always popping pills in order to give him his “superpowers” that allow him to eat ghosts. The more I think about it, Pac-Man is just a deadbeat dad and a junkie who’s on a halleucination-filled bender. On the plus side, he does eat his fruits so he won’t catch scurvy. So it pretty much evens out.

This actually isn’t a joke, but did you know that Pac Man was created in a brainstorming session about how to get women into video games? The inventor of the game asked, “What do women like?” The answer was shopping and eating. Since he couldn’t figure out a way to work in shopping, the game became about eating. Hence the gobbling and the fruits. Fortunately, he ignored the other major things women are good for, otherwise Ms. Pac Man would run around after Pac Man whining about how he didn’t clean the garage while shedding her uterine lining and making less money. Which, while educational, is gross and doesn’t seem like a whole lot of fun. And that’s why kids don’t ever get how the world really works.
