A Central Pennsylvania man wanted to protest a tax hike for local sewers when he came up with the idea to use a sign to voice his discontent. After placing a sign reading “$10,000 TO TAKE A CRAP,” the man was told that he had to remove the word crap due to it being indecent. And now there’s lawsuits.

A homeowner has filed suit against a Central Pennsylvania town for making him remove the word crap from two protest signs he posted in mid July.

They read: “$10,000 TO TAKE A CRAP.”

David Kliss of East Hanover Township displayed them because he was upset that a mandated sewer tie-in would cost him thousands of dollars, according to the suit, filed with the U.S. District Court in Scranton.

About a week later, the township’s code-enforcement agency notified Kliss, who lives at 436 Pheasant Rd., that he was violating a zoning ordinance that “No Loud, Vulgar, Indecent or Obscene Advertising matter shall be displayed in any manner.”

Besides, the word crap just isn’t that offensive, said Kliss’ Kennett Square attorney, Aaron Martin.

“In my brief, I used an episode of Seinfeld from 1993, in which the word crap was used four times in 15 seconds, to demonstrate that our society does not view that word as unspeakable,” he said.

A Warsaw, Ohio church has had parishioners protest the nearby strip club, The Fox Hole. So, unwilling to bow to the religious will of the church’s angry pastor, the strippers went to the New Beginnings Ministries church and protested them right back.

The Fox Hole strip club is located approximately nine miles from the New Beginnings church, however the two groups have found themselves in a battle for Warsaw’s souls.

According to a report from the Associated Press, New Beginnings pastor Bill Dunfee said:

“As a Christian community, we cannot share territory with the devil,” Dunfee said. “Light and darkness cannot exist together, so the Fox Hole has got to go.

Fox Hole owner Tommy George offered to call off his stripper protest if Dunfee agreed to call of his church’s protests of the club. However, Dunfee refuses to relent.

The protests have taken their toll on the strip club’s business. One dancer named Laura Meske, known as “Lola” when performing on stage, has been rallying the strip club’s girls who stand to lose hundreds of dollars during each protest. The AP says:

The Fox Hole encourages customers to check out its $30 private dance special, promoting it on the kind of sign convenience stores use to advertise cheap milk and cigarettes. Out back, letters on a bulletin board have faded away so that “No touching” now reads “ouch.”

It’s here where dancers strip down to panties and pasties for cash. Meske — a tattooed mother of four — said she made $30 instead of a couple hundred dollars last Friday with the protesters outside.

“I’m not the most beautiful woman in the world,” she said. “I go out there and I try to make my money.”

I’m really not a fan of a ministry trying to impose its will upon a legal business that’s not even remotely in the vicinity of their church. Dunfee’s quote about “light and dark” is just ridiculous. While I don’t think I’d want my daughter to grow up and strip for a living, I don’t think her willingness to flash a boob to pay rent or try to improve the life of her children is going to automatically stamp her ticket to cornholing Satan. Then again, I’m not so sure I’d want to see a woman from the urban metropolis of Warsaw, Ohio in the buff since I imagine they look vaguely like one of the dead pig carcasses the guys on Myth Busters use for their field tests.

In El Salvador, a man was shot and killed by two men dressed as clowns on a public bus after the duo requested the man’s money and he refused.

The army of 100 clowns showed up at El Salvador’s capital to protest the killing of the passenger, as well as the fact that the two criminals dressed up as one of their own.

One clown told the AP, “We are protesting so that people know we are not killers. The people who did this are not clowns. They unfortunately used our costume and our makeup to commit a monstrous act.”

The leader of the clown union [EDITOR'S NOTE: Seriously?] said that he plans to give IDs to all the real clowns and ask police to detain any clown caught without his or her papers.

I didn’t know that it required to be getting paid for clownmanship to be considered a real clown. That seems sort of discriminatory. I mean what if I’m just a guy who likes clowning, putting on my brightest clown bowtie and my silliest clown shoes and making people laugh? Does that mean I should be thrown in jail just because the Clown Union thinks I’m not clowny enough to clown? Or if I have a really weird clown fetish and I’m in the middle of spraying a nubile (yet undoubtedly needy given her willingness to participate in this) woman in the face with my seltzer? Sounds like Big Bozo needs to spend less time killing guys on buses and spend more time learning a little lesson about tolerance.

Bicyclists who planned to go topless to protest the removal of a Brooklyn bike lane switched gears Saturday, pinning plastic breasts to their jackets as they rolled into a snowstorm.

Dozens of bikers joined a protest called the “Freedom Ride” to oppose the removal of a bike path in Williamsburg, an Orthodox Jewish neighborhood.

Bloomberg had removed the bike path because members of the Satmar branch of Judaism “don’t want to see women in shorts,” said Baruch Herzfeld, who runs a bike-sharing program in a community where Jewish women wear hefty skirts and long-sleeved blouses and men wear heavy coats and hats, even in summer.

“The rabbis want to keep their people in the 18th century, and they don’t want the world to intrude into their enclave,” Herzfeld said.

Oh, well that makes more sense as to why they felt going topless would be a reasonable protest. But still, if you’re not going topless, why even hold the protest? Do you see that picture from the protest above? That’s not really sticking it to the Jewish community’s “dress women in burlap sacks” ideologies. You can’t even see most of the women’s faces. You think snow would have stopped civil rights activists from having sit-ins? That’s like going to protest some heartless company building a factory in the woods and then sodomizing a plant and punching a deer in the left nut as soon as you get there.

Jesse Morrell — a 25-year-old evangelist preacher from Cheshire, Conn., who said he did three stints at the juvenile detention center on Whalley Avenue for selling drugs — says he knows where most Yale students are headed: hell.

For the past three days, Morrell has used Yale’s campus as the platform for his open-air preaching. A self-proclaimed born-again Christian, he has spent much of the past three days sermonizing about the “evils of sin” on Old Campus, Cross Campus and the section of Wall Street near Woodbridge Hall.

While Morrell failed to attract much attention from passersby during his first two days on campus, on Thursday afternoon, about 100 Yalies gathered to watch him rail against moral corruption at Yale. Several of those gathered wondered aloud if Morrell actually believed the things he said, and others heckled during his sermon, while others still took photos and videos on their cell phones.

“It seems like he’s really enjoying this, frankly,” Jeremy Poindexter ’11 said.

Who wouldn’t love being the center of attention and all the spoils that come along with it? Like two gentlemen making out for you as though you’re the Emperor of Rome and the ability to shamefully search for gay pornography in your home on the Internet doesn’t exist yet. Protesters are often the most vocal citizens within certain areas of the public debate. But usually, the type of person who’d line up and stand outside for hours on end is probably not the most intelligent person to be discussing the issues. I feel like I’m pretty well-read, but every now and then someone talks about some issue or bill or law or whatever and I end up just staring at them blankly or end up going, “Yeah, totally,” but the other person knows I have no clue at all what I’m talking about. So I’m pretty confident that in spite of my knowledge and worldliness 99% of the time, they’ll always remember that one moment and think I’m in idiot as a result. So whenever I don’t know something now, I scream, “THAT IS A LOAD OF BULLHOOEY…but I think you already knew that” and then walk out of the room backwards while pointing at them the whole way. Crazy? Perhaps. Impassioned? Seemingly. Perfectly manicured index finger? Without question.

Little people are calling on the Federal Communications Commission to ban the use of the word “midget” on broadcast TV.
The group Little People of America said Sunday the word is just as offensive as racial slurs.

The request was prompted by an April episode of NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice that the group said was demeaning.

In the episode, contestants created a detergent ad called “Jesse James and the Midgets.” The contestants, including Joan Rivers, suggested bathing little people in the detergent and hanging them to dry.

Calls to the FCC and Celebrity Apprentice host Donald Trump were not immediately answered Sunday. NBC Universal representatives didn’t immediately respond to e-mail messages, and the telephone rang unanswered at their Los Angeles office.

I don’t know what’s more surprising: That the lil fellas took such offense to what was said or that they were able to dial the phone without their fat little fingers hitting too many buttons at once.

My question is this..do these midget groups see someone like Verne Troyer and think of him like a black guy would someone shucking and jiving? Because I feel like 80% of midgets are employed in some form of entertainment that’d be embarrassing for midgetkind. Very hypocritical. Anyway, probably not a good idea to boycott things or whine when the majority of your support base can be easily lifted up and thrown. That’s why bulimic supermodels often avoid discussing political beliefs. Well, that and how time-consuming vomiting is.
