For those worried about not having anything to do now that football Saturdays are over, rest easy. Budweiser has announced that it is creating it’s own reality show called “Bud United presents: The Big Time” to fill that void. Unfortunately, it sounds a lot like “Pros vs. Joes,” only without the pros.

The world’s largest brewer by sales said the show will feature amateurs competing in sports, such as baseball, soccer and stock-car racing, as well as other fields, including music and cooking.

Yeah, that should be a perfect substitute for college football. You have to take my negative attitude with a silo full of salt because I hate reality TV, but the genre is obviously popular. Someone out there must love them because there hundreds if not 1000+ different shows.

AB-InBev developed this idea because no one wants to drink their flagship beer anymore, and they assume that this sort of branded entertainment will encourage people to do so. Because it’s on ABC, the contestants aren’t allowed to drink. Instead they will rely on product placement, including a final victory celebration. Call me a skeptic if you’d like, but I don’t think hoisting a Bud Heavy can after winning a pointless contest is going to encourage me to go out and buy their beer. And they can put as many people wearing Bud shirts in the stands as they want, but it’s not going to change my opinion or taste buds.

Now you may be thinking this is a great way to get essentially free advertising. Nope, Chuck Testa think again. They are paying ABC to air the show. That essentially means that Budweiser has resorted to running hour-long infomercials. You now officially have my permission to lump the beer brand in with The Gazelle, Total Gym, Magic Bullet, and of course, Slap Chop.

Behold yet another idiot on a reality show who thinks his gaming gear is worth a ton of cash (remember Halo armor guy?), and behold him getting shot down. But this time it’s even stupider/more hilarious.

This time the show is Storage Wars. When renters can’t pay the bill on their storage lockers, they go on the auction block, which treasure hungers thus buy in hopes of snagging some valuables that they can thus profit from. But they have no idea what lies inside ultimately, so there’s a huge risk factor involved.

Here we have one guy who stumbles across an old NES, and hilarity ensues…

… Christ, what a dumbs. And man, the look on his face once the news is delivered (by a dude at a game store no less) is classic. I also can’t believe $10 was offered… for a broken, shit-stained NES, I wouldn’t even offer $1. Also remember: just cuz you saw something on the internet doesn’t mean it’s true. Which also means, sadly, cats do not enjoy cheeseburgers all that much.

BTW, as GameSetWatch pointed out, the auction the idiot’s referencing is one in which the system happened to also have an ultra rare NES game included, which was indeed worth 13 grand. Oops!

Reality TV is all fake, but apparently the lines are too blurred for Wisconsin judges, who are forcing a girl on probation back to court due to her behavior on the show Bridezillas.

A Racine woman says she was just “playing the game” when a cable reality show offered to pay for her wedding if she acted like an out of control bride for the cameras. Her acting may have this bridezilla playing the real life role of an inmate.

Most brides don’t want to be portrayed poorly like the ones featured on the show Bridezillas, but Karee Gibson says she was given the unique opportunity to appear on a reality TV show. Bridezillas follows the lives of engaged women, casting their busy schedules in an emphatic and sometimes humorous fashion.

Gibson said, “I thought it would be a nice opportunity for me to show my acting skills, cause I’ve always wanted to be an actress and also a way for my family to get some income to help me pay for my wedding.”

Gibson claims her bad behavior on the show was all an act. Gibson says, “I’m not like that at all and that’s why it was fun for me because I’m not like that at all and that’s why I’m getting so upset because everybody thinks I’m like that because I did such a good job acting and that’s not me.”

Her convincing appearance on the show could land her in jail. Gibson is on probation for a fight she got into in high school. Her probation officer says her behavior on Bridezillas is a violation of her parole.

The 21-year-old wife and mother has been ordered to report to the Racine County Jail Monday afternoon. Now her decision to appear on Bridezillas is one she regrets.

I came across this video today and, man, is it a gem. Check out this Indian fellow reacting to a woman slapping him in a completely cool and calm demeanor i.e. slapping her even harder and then yelling “HOW CAN SHE SLAP?” over and over again.

The clip is real and from a show called Dodogiri, an Indian Fear Factor of sorts (which I presume means them thinking about a world without taxis or one in which you’re asked not to smell like stale curry). I am pleased though that they weren’t happy with the guy for slapping the woman in her face. If this same incident happened in Iran, the guy would be named Prime Minister and they’d throw leis around his neck while playing the Iranian version of Hail to the Chief.
