Well that’s good. At least he has well-informed and well-spoken opinions. It’s always good when your opinion on race relations is a hillbilly derivative of a Chris Rock bit.

My favorite part of the video is the brand new Confederate flag behind his head (you can see the folds from it being freshly hung up). This is like the redneck equivalent of your black friend who goes to college, takes one African American Studies class and all of a sudden feels oppressed. Dude, your dad’s a doctor and your mom is a successful saleswoman…that black power fist at the Olympics poster doesn’t necessarily ring true with your American experience.

Some rednecks played with a cattle prod. The guy on the receiving end took it not once, but TWICE. The stupidity in the world is mind-boggling.

After doing some quick mental math and calculations plus some anecdotal scientific research, it would appear as though this might not have been a good idea.

Oh if only they had just seceded after the Civil War. We would have way less tasings and NASCAR races. Plus the myth of the Southern Belle is extremely overhyped and wholly nonexistent. And Yosemite Sam really wasn’t that funny, though I did admire his ability to grow a lush mustache. The point is that I’m ready for Southerners to do something to justify their existence to me beyond making me delicious ribs. Aaaaaand go.

Granted, you can’t be too pleased with yourself after thinking this was a good idea, but shouldn’t bulletproof vests do, you know, what they’re supposed to? If I buy a pot to cook soup in, I don’t think it’s unreasonable to hope that it wouldn’t vomit back scalding water at me or rape my mother. Maybe that’s my real problem…I’m just too much of an idealist.

If some girl had broken up with me and I wanted her back (which would never happen because A) I’m too awesome to leave behind and B) It’s pretty hard to win someone back after you initially turned them off by carving their initials into your arm after she said “Hi” to you at a Wendy’s), I’m not sure this is the approach I’d take. I’d probably do something really grand like get her 7000 flowers or kidnap her cat and make it hold up a sign that says “TAKE HIM BACK OR I DIE”. But I guess I’m just a romantic like that.
