The drafting of Heisman winner Mark Ingram signaled that the Saints were more than likely going in another direction and would not require the services of the oft-injured Bush. New Orleans Saints running back Reggie Bush took to Twitter to express his discontent with their pick last night. With Pierre Thomas on the mend from an injury and Reggie Bush’s chronic DL visits, the seem shifted their focus to replenishing their backfield with Alabama stud Mark Ingram. Looks like his PR people got to him later on in the night and Bush offered this “sincere” tweet about the Saints newest addition.

Over the last two years, Bush has only rushed the ball 106 times for a paltry 540 yards and his receiving numbers have been average at best. He’s got no one else to blame for his situation but himself and at the very least, has a Super Bowl ring because of the hard work of his teammates.

I always thought Kim Kardashian was the drama queen in their relationship but as time goes on, it appears more and more like Bush is just another whiny baby in an NFL that seems overloaded with them these days.

Yesterday, after months of rumors and speculation, former USC RB Reggie Bush finally decided to give back his 2005 Heisman trophy. After the Heisman Trust had opened up their own internal investigation, there was talk that they would strip him of the award sometime in the near future. Perhaps Bush was trying to save face or spare the embarrassment of having such a prestigious award taken from him. Regardless of the reason, Bush issued this statement yesterday.

“One of the greatest honors of my life was winning the Heisman Trophy in 2005. For me, it was a dream come true. But I know that the Heisman is not mine alone. Far from it. I know that my victory was made possible by the discipline and hard work of my teammates, the steady guidance of my coaches, the inspiration of the fans, and the unconditional love of my family and friends. And I know that any young man fortunate enough to win the Heisman enters into a family of sorts. Each individual carries the legacy of the award and each one is entrusted with its good name.
It is for these reasons that I have made the difficult decision to forfeit my title as Heisman winner of 2005. The persistent media speculation regarding allegations dating back to my years at USC has been both painful and distracting. In no way should the storm around these allegations reflect in any way on the dignity of this award, nor on any other institutions or individuals. Nor should it distract from outstanding performances and hard-earned achievements either in the past, present or future.
For the rest of my days, I will continue to strive to demonstrate through my actions and words that I was deserving of the confidence placed in me by the Heisman Trophy Trust. Unfortunately for former USC running back Reggie Bush, his days as the 2005 Heisman Trophy winner will be coming to an end.

Yahoo Sports is reporting that the Heisman Trophy Trust, the organization responsible for handing out College Football’s best player, will officially strip of Bush of the award before the end of the month.

Two sources close to the Heisman trust said the body’s investigation is coming to a close, and will ultimately concur with the NCAA’s determination that Bush was ineligible during his Heisman-winning season in 2005. Because of that independent conclusion, sources said the trust will relieve Bush of the award and leave the honor for that season vacant. The sources said Bush met with Heisman representatives last month at the New York law offices of Emmet, Marvin & Martin. The sources would not reveal details of that meeting.

Although information was available to the Heisman Trust from both the media and from USC itself, they conducted their own independent investigation into the matter.

It also does not appear that Vince Young, the 2005 Heisman runner-up, will receive the award. More or less, it seems that it will just be vacated. So all those time you thought you saw Reggie Bush juking defenders and streaking down the sidelines for touchdowns, uh yea, that never happened.

But then they decided to unleash the fury on former USC standouts O.J Mayo and Reggie Bush. And in the latter’s case, they are sending his Heisman back.

The Trojan family honors and respects the USC sporting careers of those persons whose actions did not compromise their athletic program or the opportunities of future USC student-athletes. Accordingly, I have instructed the senior vice president for administration to remove athletic jerseys and murals displayed in recognition of O.J. Mayo and Reggie Bush by mid-August — before the incoming class of students moves on campus — from Heritage Hall, the Galen Center and the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. The university also will return Mr. Bush’s 2005 Heisman Trophy to the Heisman Trophy Trust in August.

Now, for what it’s worth, this does not mean that Reggie Bush is stripped of his 2005 Heisman trophy. That decision lies ultimately with the Downtown Athletic Club of New York.

This translates into USC being pissed off and wanting to distance itself as far as possible from the cheating scandals that have rocked them. Granted, they’re as much to blame as anyone else but from their perspective, that’s not the point.

They need to move on from this disaster and if they have to humiliate Bush and his Heisman trophy in the process, so be it.

A week just can’t go by without some Lindsay Lohan news and this week is no different as LiLo was almost committed by the LAPD. As in committed to an insane asylum. Recently cops became so concerned they discussed taking her in for a 5150 evaluation. Frankly, I don’t see what all the concern is about. (Oh yeah, she also fell on her ass after a party… again.)
