Reports published in PNG’s Post Courier newspaper have highlighted a spate of abuses, intimidation and rapes of women known to be infected with HIV/AIDS in Mt Hagen, in Western Highlands Province.

A donated house in the town has become a refuge for 13 women using antiretroviral drugs to combat HIV/AIDS, but the women say they are constantly attacked by drunks and local men.

An unnamed woman, who was recently raped by a schoolboy, told the Post Courier that men were forcing their way into the refuge to rape regardless of the women’s illness.

“We are totally confused why they keep coming here, looking for us despite our status,” she said.

A county attorney in Kansas violated a girl’s privacy by showing around photos of her sexual assault, the teen and her mother claim in Topeka Federal Court. The Anderson County Attorney refused to prosecute the assailant, but showed other parents photos of the sexual assault, and was suspended from practicing law for 6 months for it, the family says.

The parents say their 17-year-old daughter attended an outdoor party in May 2007, where four men or boys forced her to take off her clothes. One of them had sex with her in the bed of a truck, despite her repeated pleas for him to stop, while others took photos of it, according to the complaint.

The girl says that she reported the assault to police, who referred it to County Attorney Frank Campbell.

She says Campbell “decided he would not pursue prosecution of the male” involved in the sexual assault, but told a local newspaper that he would share the pictures with parents of the minors at the party.

I have to admit that I look at these stories a bit differently than most people. My girlfriend goes to law school and she’s always trying to impart wisdom from that experience to me and, I have to say, sometimes it rubs off and I’ve started to feel as though I have a cursory understanding of how our American legal system really works. Though now, I have to think she hasn’t learned too much about the law yet…since she’s never showing me photos of nude 17 year-olds. Maybe that comes in the third year. Fingers crossed!

A strip club that hired a 14-year-old as an exotic dancer is now suing the girl, saying the seventh-grader swindled them into breaking state law.

The San Antonio teen allegedly exposed her breasts while working at Cheetah Club in Corpus Christi, a violation of state law.

Alan Yaffe, the club’s attorney, said the club didn’t know the girl was a minor.

“She came (into the club) with 6-inch stiletto heels and a miniskirt and looked just like a model from a Miss America’s contest,” Yaffe said.

Police say Leslie Campbell, 48, kidnapped the teenager in San Antonio in March, took her to Corpus Christi, sexually assaulted her over the course of a week, gave her a false identification card and forced her to strip at the club.

The suit seeks unspecified damages from Campbell, the girl and her parents, as well as a declaration from a judge that it did not intend to hire a minor.

“We’re the victims here,” Yaffe said.

So let’s get this straight…in a story in which a 14 year-old girl was kidnapped and forced into stripping at a club, possibly at risk of her own life, the strip club is the real victims. I have a pretty high threshold for scumminess, particularly when it involves sexy nude teens, but holy crap that’s low. Even low for a strip club that would employ a 14 year-old without even doing a background check or, I don’t know, looking to see if she’s wearing a Hannah Montana backpack. I wouldn’t be shocked if the lawsuit featured a kick to her teenage vagina as part of the damages.

Meet Danica Wallace and Jeremy Welch. The Ohio couple was arrested Friday after cops spotted them having sex in a car while Wallace’s two small children were in the vehicle’s back seat.

According to a Springfield Police Department report, a copy of which you’ll find here, Wallace, 24, was driving a Ford Taurus when she and Welch, 29, “pulled off the roadway to have sex.”

When police approached the vehicle, they discovered Wallace, naked from the waist down, astride a similarly pantsless Welch, who was seated in the front passenger seat.

Richard Batista can live with his broken heart. He just can’t bear his cheating wife living with his healthy kidney.

The Long Island doctor wants the one-time love of his life to pay $1.5 million for the organ he bestowed on her eight years ago in a gift meant to save her life and their foundering marriage.

“There’s no deeper pain you can ever express than to be betrayed by the person you devoted your life to,” Batista told reporters in Garden City Wednesday.

“I saved her life. But the pain is unbearable.”

Batista charged his wife, Dawnell, repaid his gesture by first sleeping with her physical therapist – and then denying him access to their three kids in an increasingly bitter divorce.

Batista insisted his cash-for-kidney claim was a direct result of his wife’s behavior. He said he hasn’t seen his three daughters – ages 14, 11 and 8 – in months.

“This is my last resort,” Batista said. “I didn’t want to be in the public eye.”

It’s rare for me to take the woman’s side in divorce proceedings so it should come as no shock that I hope the kidney spontaneously combusts inside of this C. It may be a shocker to learn that major corporations are f’ing you everywhere you go. Well, add another confirmation on that fact to the list: It costs you .20 for every text you send. It costs cell providers approximately 0 dollars. And 0 cents.

But just because we all know that we are being scammed doesn’t make the manner of the sting any less interesting. A piece in the New York Times goes into some detail on the cost of text messages to the cell carriers and concludes that it is close to zero. UNREGULATED sperm donation is leading to unusual situations in which the children of lesbians in Adelaide are mixing socially – creating a risk of incest.

One of South Australia’s foremost experts in reproductive technology – Reverend Dr Andrew Dutney – says that in one reported case, about 30 lesbians were impregnated by sperm from one man.

The mothers then organised picnics with all the children, raising the fear they might socialise with their half-siblings without realising they are related.

In another case, a man’s sperm was used to produce 29 children, most of whom are living in Adelaide. They do not know who their half-siblings are, raising concerns that in a “big country town” like Adelaide, they could accidentally commit incest.
