An Eastern Conference Showdown: Detroit at Boston

My hatred for the Celtics is well-known. In fact, if I saw Larry Bird in the street Id probably kick him in the nuts. Larry Bird ruined my life. Ok fine, maybe not my life but he sure as hell ruined a couple of days in 1987 with the infamous:

“There’s a steal by Bird, underneath to DJ”

Why are they showing Walton clapping on the bench?
They might as well have showed that Boston slappy Bill Simmons in the stands cheering with his dad. He did more for the Celtics that year than a broken down Walton.

Anyways, here’s a video from the 1987 Eastern Conference Finals

Three things in this video:

1) at :22, Birds tries to stomp Laimbeer a la Chris Simon

2) at 2:13, the announcers say “Bird would not have been ejected if he hadnt thrown that ball”. Never mind the fact, that Bird was dropping haymakers at the bottom of the pile.

3) at 4:35, there is a replay of Parrish absolutely drilling Laimbeer in the face in front of a ref(I believe its Jess Kersey).

Parrish doesnt even get a foul let alone a technical foul on this play.

ITS THE WORST NO-CALL IN SPORTS HISTORY!

Parrish literally got two solid shots in clear view of a ref. Can you imagine how many games Parrish would have been suspended in today’s NBA?

Yeah, there was no bias against the Pistons in the late 80s.

A big one finger salute to the NBA for that one

I know this was 20 years ago but I would like nothing more than to take payback for that tonight. It would seem fitting.

1) They are playing in Boston.
2) The teams are 1 and 2 in the Eastern Conference.
3) There has been problems before between the Pistons and Kevin Garnett. Dice and Garnett got into last year and Garnett was actually suspended a game for throwing a punch.

So Flip Saunders, I urge you, take action! Bring Primo Brezec off the bench and let Paul Pierce drive by his man and take him out Bad Boys style!

You owe that to Pistons fans everywhere, and most of all, you owe it to me because you suck ass as a coach.
