Fifth Third Bank on Rochester Gets Robbed

Police said the precautionary lockdown of four Troy elementary schools has been lifted, as police continue to search for two bank robbers in the area.The schools that were on lockdown are Barnard Elementary, Wattles Elementary, Morse Elementary, and Baker Elementary.There is still a police presence around Baker Elementary, according to police.

Investigators said two black men, both wearing caps and bandanas, white shirts, and khaki pants, robbed the Fifth Third bank on Rochester Road north of Big Beaver Road.

Witnesses said one man was carrying a handgun and the other has a long gun.

The men ordered the customers to lie on the floor as the manager opened the vault, said police. The men left with an undisclosed amount of money.Police said money from a dye pack that exploded was found in the street outside of the bank. One of the men may have red dye on him, according to police.Police said the men were driving a stolen red Jeep, which was found in a subdivision east of the bank.
