I don’t know why this amused me so there’s a good chance it sucks, but the juxtaposition of a cop pretending to be a 13 year-old girl and his “zest for handling the job” seems like there was a bit of human-spawning goo being created when this cop was on duty.

Arresting online predators, car thieves and an armed robber are some of the things that a handful of Crete police officers do best.

Crete Officer Paul Howey recently was given a Crete Police Department commendation for his expertise and exemplary investigation that resulted in the arrest of online predators.

In four unrelated cases between Oct. 25 and March 26, Howey posed as a 13-year-old girl in online conversations that resulted in four people being charged with indecent solicitation of a child.

“Because of the diligence and persistence exhibited by Officer Howey, along with his expert knowledge — regarding online sexual predators, four felons were removed from society before they were able to exploit and harm young girls.”
