Defending your rights against a cop, fine. Being annoyed with a cop hassling you for just cause, bad but understandable. Cursing out a cop and not cooperating after punching two people in the face then insisting that the cop has no right to tell you what to do…probably not a good idea.

A man pleaded not guilty to three charges after allegedly punching two people, crashing his car into theirs, and telling police officers they couldn’t tell him what to do, a criminal complaint stated.

“____ you pig, I don’t have to do what you tell me,” Jeremy Rodgers, 28, of the 300 block of Russell Street, reportedly told a police officer when asked to go talk to another officer.

Rogers, who was bleeding from the head, was immediately pinned against a patrol car and handcuffed for questioning.

Nasario Carrillo told police Rogers was drinking beer with them and got in an argument, punching him and Jo Anna Carrillo in the face. He said he was able to push Rodgers out the back door and lock it. He said Rogers then banged on the door with his head and fists.
