When you make up stories about college athletes, especially serious allegations about being involved in a felonious fight, you deserve this kind of punishment.

Our friends over at Waynefontes.com broke this story yesterday afternoon….

WayneFontes.com has learned from a source inside the Detroit News building that sports columnist Rob Parker must work for the next two weeks as a general reporter inside the building, and cannot write any columns.

Not to say I wield any power in the sports world but as far as the blogosphere is concerned, the story from WOI was on Deadspin, CNN on Campus, and Yahoo Rivals.

I’d like to thank those websites and many others for calling attention to this bozo journalist.

Let’s hope, the Detroit News makes his suspension a permanent one..
