Top 10 signs that you’ll never make it to the start of the NFL season
by DMtShooter, Five Tool Tool.com
As of today, there are 125 days until the first game of the NFL regular season, when the Titans and Steelers kick it off on Thursday, September 10. (And before you ask, yes, we’re all such lucky ducks — the Raiders will be on the late Monday night game, against the Chargers, to end the first weekend of action with the customary hate of the NFL for making us watch the Raiders. Consider it to be the new version of how the NFL inflicts the Lions on us every year at Thanksgiving. Ah. tradition!)
Anyway, 125 days is a long time. Really long. I’m fairly sure that Michael Vick did more time in the clink, really. Anyway, here are the top 10 signs that when the weather turns, you will not. Or something.
10) You already know your team’s upcoming schedule
9) You’ve read enough mock real and fantasy draft columns that you’re more or less able to write your own
8) You have already, or long for the ability to, made prop bets in Vegas
7) You are the guy making trade requests in the keeper league
6) You watch basketball, baseball and hockey only to remind yourself how much you hate them
5) Maybe this is the year where you up your fandom by (pick the stage that applies) watching the team in summer workouts / taking off work to see all of the workouts / go to all of the home games / going to all of the road games
4) The loss of Arena Football is hitting you even harder than you thought it would
3) You’re still wondering how the Raiders could draft so badly
2) You’re thinking way too much about (a) your fantasy football team, (b) your real football team, (c) your plans to go to the Super Bowl if, God willing and your own damn self doesn’t jinx it, your team actually makes it, (d) the riveting summer camp battles to see who will be the 41st through 45th players on the active roster, (e) all of the above
1) You’re already wearing the jerseys… or worst, never took them off
