These two have been dating for 5 years, online, through Facebook and Web cams and Internet games, and this is them meeting face to face for the first time. Aw… doesn’t that just show the power of love?

Answer: no. It doesn’t. And you know what else it doesn’t show? Them talking to each other, or even making eye contact for that matter. That’s because this is probably terribly awkward. Everyone knows when you’re physically removed from a situation, you get to be an intensified version of yourself. You’ve got time to type and retype whatever you’re trying to say, so you’re wittier and cuter and probably smarter (thanks, Google.) Now after 5 years of interacting with that, you get to date this subpar version instead. Congrats; he’s got more pimples than Photoshop made it look, and she’s got a mom-ass. You two will make a great pair.

Or, more likely, you’ll spend a few awkward days being silent and mouth-kissing, and then go back to strictly communicating through FarmVille for a few more years. This was just what Shakespeare had in mind.
